While looking for a program to sponsor thiis year, the Hoe-Down was notified that last year there were not enough funds to reach all of the children on the Carroll County Sherrif's Dept "Shop with a Cop" program. Right away, it was obvious that this would be the right organization for this year's benefit show. "Shop with a Cop" is for Carroll County children who's families' income do not provide enough for Christmas presents this year. The sheriff's department takes these children shopping each year to ensure that no child goes without on Christmas Day. However, last year, there weren't enough funds and some children had to be turned away. "It just isn't acceptable to me to know that a child will wake up Christmas morning without a gift, and we feel blessed to be in a position where we can help," stated Hoe-Down owner, Randall George. The Hoe-Down plans to sell out all tickets to the benefit show on November 17th, which will in turn provide enough funds for all children within the program to receive gifts this year. For those who would like to donate to the program but are unable to attend the show, an online donation account has been set up to benefit these children of Carroll County, Arkansas. The Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down's benefit show is scheduled for November 17, 2007 at 8:00pm (pre-show starts at 7:30pm). For ticket information go to www.hoedown.net or call (800) 468-2113. Thank you for helping the Hoe-Down bring Christmas to children in need.
