The Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down was featured on Whoopi Goldberg's radio talk show as part of a Valentine's Day special that highlighted an online business by entertainer Leslie Wright and Hoe-Down owner Randall George. SongwritersRecordingStudio.com, was selected by a New York radio talk show host as one of his recommended gifts for Valentine's Day 2008. The studio offers a variety of services including songwriter demos, radio jingles, and original on hold music; but what caught their attention was the custom songwriting services.
"I recieved a phone call yesterday (January 29th) from a man in New York that said he does a radio show with Whoopi Goldberg, and he wanted to know if he could talk to me about my custom songwriting service," said Leslie Wright, "I thought it was a joke at first, and I ran a quick Internet search on his name to find out who he was."
The radio talk show host was no joke, and the two began talking about how he came across the studio's website. He stated that after viewing several custom songwriting businesses online, the Songwriters Recording Studio had the most professional and, in his words, "polished" quality and sound. He and Leslie spent several minutes discussing how the business worked and who was involved. "I told him that it's basically run by two people - myself and Randall. I explained that I handle the project if it needs a piano/vocal arrangement only, and if it needs a full band demo I bring it to Randall to produce the song and play the rest of the instruments," stated Leslie.
The talk show host was impressed that songs were compiled by only two people, and even more intrigued to find out that the two behind the business were located in a small town in Northwest Arkansas and part of a music show in Eureka Springs. He then proceeded to ask questions about the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down and decided to talk about this show as well during his segment. Leslie told him about the nightly music show, and then went on to explain that the Hoe-Down was where the recordings took place if more than a piano/vocal demo was needed. She referred to the talented Hoe-Down players as the "in-house band" for the Songwriters Recording Studio when additional instruments were needed such as steel guitar, banjo, or fiddle. "It makes it so easy to record a great demo when you have these guys right here when you need them," said Leslie.
